TESTIMONIALS

“Connect 4 Life is amazing and their online educational program: An Accessible Voice in Broadcasting has been invaluable to me during the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeling isolated and alone, I was able to have a daily connection with other caring disabled people who shared my interests and to make new friends during this very stressful stay-at-home lockdown. The course educators and classroom community have inspired me to grow both personally and professionally, providing me with the tools and support for a potential new career opportunity, all accomplished in the comfort, ease and safety of my own home. Life is good when you Connect 4 Life!”.

“My experience with Connect4Life was beyond exceptional. When I was at a low point, feeling desperate and uncertain about my future due to the lack of training opportunities, everything changed when I received an email from Mark. The joy and relief I felt at that moment were indescribable. I immediately thanked God and prayed for Mark’s continued success in all the wonderful work he does.

From the very beginning, I was impressed by the professionalism and warmth of the Connect4Life team. They were incredibly cooperative, respectful, and always ready to offer support. It wasn’t just a training experience; it was a journey of personal growth and learning. The knowledge and skills I acquired, particularly in dealing with special cases, have been invaluable.

One of the most significant moments for me was participating in Toastmasters. It was here that I learned how to speak in public without fear or shyness—something I never thought I could do. This experience has not only boosted my confidence but has also equipped me with tools that I will carry with me for life.

Working with Connect4Life has been a blessing, and I truly hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with you again in the future. The impact you’ve had on my life is something I will always cherish, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to be part of such an inspiring and supportive environment”.

“I started my practicum at Connect 4 Life in September of 2023, it is has been a great experience so far and I have learned many things. During this portion of my practicum, I learned many things including; how to send out professional emails, creativity, interviewing skills, how to manage tasks, SSW skills and much more. I exceeded expectations for mostly all the learning objectives because whenever I receive a task, I always try to always outdo myself and get the job done the best way that I can, especially because I am still learning, and my supervisor says that I am always doing a great job.  For example, our organization allows us to be creative when it comes to making flyers to promote, so I have also learned other skills like designing, how to use external platforms, how to send out professional emails, making barcodes and much more”.

“What has joining Connect4Life done for me? What a very interesting question and to be honest with you ever since I joined Connect4Life in March of 2022 I have had the opportunity to explore the wonders of the world and in the world of being a podcaster and I couldn’t be more grateful to have such an opportunity to get in touch with so many broadcasters most of all get in touch with some of my former teachers from my high school and of course I can’t forget at all about the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

Thanks to Connect4Life my life has changed for the better because since I joined Connect 4 Life and after a great experience in their “An Accessible Voice In Broadcasting” course I’ve had the opportunity to check out some of the other programs or more specifically and I honest enjoy them all but my favorite one is the “Connect For Wellness” workshop but I also enjoy the speech craft, workshops as well.

Since I’ve joined Connect 4 Life I’ve started my podcasting journey and I gotta say it’s been a bit of a bumpy road and honestly I’ve learned a lot about how hard it is to put in the work to have a successful podcast.

My podcast is doing really well so far and honestly if it hadn’t been for Melanie, Sean and most of all Mark on showing me the way as well as the different types of radio that there are I think I would have never thought I could become a podcaster or even a broadcaster but it just goes to show that sometimes you learn more from your mistakes then you would from trying to get what your trying to do better or more specifically trying to get what your, doing perfect the first time.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Connect 4 Life to anyone I meet and others with disabilities or even in general because sure do I enjoy my time with Connect 4 Life and I cannot forget about the opportunity to join Maple Leaf Toastmasters thanks to the founder of the Connect4Life charity and author of her very only book called “My Unforeseen Journey” in Melanie Taddeo. Thanks to her my connection with Connect 4 Life has gotten stronger and stronger and honestly I couldn’t be more thankful or grateful to have the opportunity.

Thanks Mark, Sean and most of all Melanie for everything you’ve done for me”.

“I have found the An Accessible Voice in Broadcasting program to be very beneficial. I have been able to learn many new skills that will help me work towards my future goals. Also, it has been especially valuable for me during the pandemic as it has provided me with a sense of connection to my instructors and fellow classmates, as well as with a variety of ways to occupy my time. I really appreciate having something to work on and look forward to in a time when there is not a lot of options for filling our time and we have to spend a lot more time on our own than we are normally used to”.

“What Connect 4 Life has offered me is not only the radio broadcasting course, but also an opportunity into a new area that I’d been interested in for a long time. Yet I had no experience before, and with impaired vision I had never imagined I could have had such an opportunity.  The free, accessible course turned an impossibility into reality. It is a precious gift especially in this difficult time of the pandemic, opening up a door to connect with people, the industry, and what’s happening in the world”.

“During the pandemic, I lost the feeling of having an adventure throughout my days; Thanks to Connect 4 Life, I regained my sense of adventure and I’m having fun in the process, whether we’re looking up articles for our newscasts or learning how to do an interview properly, there’s always something new to learn”.
